Kippah Groovin'

Although some of its personnel has shifted over the years, the Kippah Groovin band has been a regular fixture at TABI since 2012. In 2014, then-current music director Josh Riedford and band member Eric Lund began to write original settings of some Shabbat service music. This activity launched a series of compositional collaborations among the entire band that would eventually become the album Peace and Mercy, released in 2018. Although COVID has created a forced hiatus for the band since March 2020, its current membership includes music director Aaron Riedford, drummer Tim Gold, and bassist Alex Bakke, and usually features support on guitar from Scottie Varble and Rabbi Mazo. Aaron continues to write new service with former music director Josh, his brother. They hope to complete a second album soon.
