| Weekly Announcements July 9, 2026 NEW! Singing Circle Wednesday July 15th at 7:00pm in the TABI sanctuary.Inspired by a recent trip to New Harmony, please join us for a special singing circle gathering for the TABI community to purely come together and sing. Rabbinic intern, Lauren Laitin, will lead the group in songs that are simple, repetitive, and often wordless (niggun) with a focus on sinking into singing as an energizing, contemplative, spiritual, and community building practice. There will be no reflective prompts, study session or discussion; it’s truly an evening of communal singing and togetherness. No experience or ongoing commitment necessary. Some sweet treats will conclude the evening. Registration is encouraged but not required; please take a few moment to let us know if you’ll be with us. Women-Led Shabbat Morning Service Saturday July 25th at 10:00am. Please join us for a special Shabbat morning service led by the women of the TABI community. Over the course of this summer, women in the TABI community have participated in a study of the role of women and worship over time in our Jewish tradition. This service will be the culmination and collective, collaborative outcome of our time learning together. Like the recent Adult Bnai Mitzvah service, this service will largely follow the flow of the usual Shabbat morning service, enhanced with a few additional readings and prayers. A kiddush for all will follow. Community Art Tree of Life Please join the Women and Worship study group in creating a community art piece. There is a beautiful Tree of Life line painting by Michelle Peterlin in the foyer just waiting to be colored in by all of us. Grab a paint marker and choose outlined segments to color in. It’s fun, its easy, and its going to be a beautiful creation by all of us. If you look closely, you will see the Shema embedded in the roots, which extend deep into the earth. Women and Worship Please join fellow TABI women for a special Women and Worship program this summer lead by our Rabbi-Intern Lauren Laitin. Women and Worship is an empowering exploration of prayer, ritual, and spiritual creativity culminating in a women-led Shabbat service. Through Torah study, liturgical history, creative prayer writing, a touch of theology, and (of course) a little crafting, we will explore what it means to find ourselves within Jewish worship and tradition. We’ll engage a wide range of voices and texts, from Aliza Lavie’s A Jewish Woman’s Prayerbook to Alice Walker’s The Color Purple to a sermon by Rabbi Maggie Wenig, as we deepen our connection to prayer, to one another, and to our own spiritual voices. This course will invite curiosity, experimentation, and joy into the vast world of worship. Mark you calendars for the following Sundays at 10:30 am. Join us for all or whichever ones you can attend. July 12 July 19 Habitat Interfaith Build We are getting closer to another Interfaith Build for Habitat. Costs have gone up pretty dramatically. It now takes $100,000 in donations to assign a house to a new homeowner and start a build. The actual cost of building a Habitat Home is over $165,000. We have successfully built 12 Interfaith homes over the past 12 years. We are in need of another $25,000 to start our next house. Each of the faith partners in the Interfaith build is helping to raise the final piece for this next house. Donating is easy – just go the the Habitat website: https://evansvillehabitat.org/ Click on “Donate Now” and under where it sats “Where can we designate your gift” choose “Interfaith Build.” On the next screen under “Donor Note” just mention that you are a TABI member. Thanks for your help in this always important partnership between TABI and Habitat. Friendly reminder that donations or membership dues can be paid via TABI’s page – using a credit card or paypal.
