Local People, World Religions

Many religions and belief systems are practiced right here in our community. Local People, World Religions is an educational video series produced by EVPL that features interviews with ten local leaders who discuss their religion or beliefs, as well as addressing common misconceptions. These videos will be released from September to January, leading to special programming in observance of World Religion Day on January 19, 2025. All releases will be available on EVPL’s website and YouTube channel, with previews on Facebook and Instagram. Below are the ten religions and beliefs represented and the local leaders who participated. They will be released in the order of recording: • Rabbi Gary Mazo – Temple Adath B’nai Israel – Reform Judaism • John Paulson – Mindful Heart Buddha Sangha – Buddhism • Gena Garrett – Atheism • Todd Mahooty – Taos Pueblo Tribe of New Mexico – Native American • Jamie Hettenbach-Barchett – Three Corners Pagan Circle – Wicca • Bushra Saqib – Islamic Center of Evansville – Islam • Father Alex Zenthoefer – St. Benedict Cathedral – Catholicism • Senior Pastor Carl Carick & Teaching Pastor Dr. Donna Beccia Carick – Shalom Yeshua Ministries – Messianic Judaism • Jennifer Willett and Tom Moor – Unitarian Universalist Church – “Non-Creedal” Congregation • Bret Nicholson – One Life Church – Non-Denominational Christian Church
