April 30, 2026 – TABI Announcements

 Weekly Announcements
April 30, 2026

Support our religion school kids by contributing to their tzedakah project!

This past Sunday, the older class (Eloise, Hattie & Lillian) created and pitched a wonderful project for the whole school (cute picture tax below). They are casting a wide net and would appreciate the following donations that we will distribute:

Cash donations (all monetary contributions will go to Feed Evansville)
Food donations for the Free Little Pantry
Baby items (diapers, formula, wipes, etc.)
Pet items (food, kitty litter, etc.)
Sports/summer fun equipment to donate to other kids

We’ll be accepting donations through the last day of class, May 17. Please help these kiddos break some records on their newly created “Tikkun Olam Tracker”! Items can be dropped off in the lobby and cash donations can be placed in the office. Contact Caitlin Haskins 812-598-1586 for more info <3  Thursday, May 21st  @  6:30 PM – Sha-BREW-ot – Brews, Jews and News

Join us for the traditional study session for Erev Shavuot with a twist – Doug Laramie, owner and Brewmaster at Henderson Brewing Company will bring some of his feature brews for us to taste followed by an engaging study session with the Rabbi.    Saturday Morning, May 23rd  @ 10:00 AM – Adult B’nai Mitzvah Service with Yizcor.
We celebrate a group of dedicated learners who have been studying and preparing to lead this service for the past year. They will lead us in worship, Torah reading and share personal reflections. This service takes place on what is traditionally the 2nd day of Shavuot so a Yizcor Service will be included. Services will be followed with a Dairy Lunch. I hope to see you as we celebrate together the major Jewish festival of Shavuot.
Habitat Interfaith Build

We are getting closer to another Interfaith Build for Habitat. Costs have gone up pretty dramatically.  It now takes $100,000 in donations to assign a house to a new homeowner and start a build.  The actual cost of building a Habitat Home is over $165,000.

We have successfully built 12 Interfaith homes over the past 12 years. We are in need of another $25,000 to start our next house.  Each of the faith partners in the Interfaith build is helping to raise the final piece for this next house.

Donating is easy – just go the the Habitat website: https://evansvillehabitat.org/
Click on “Donate Now” and under where it sats “Where can we designate your gift” choose “Interfaith Build.”
On the next screen under “Donor Note” just mention that you are a TABI member.

Thanks for your help in this always important partnership between TABI and Habitat.

Make a Difference at the YWCA
Change a life. Become a mentor!
Right now, 22 girls and 15 boys are waiting to be matched with caring mentors through the YWCA Live Y’ers Program. An hour of your time each month can make a lifetime of difference for a young person helping them build confidence, resilience, and a vision for their future.
You have the power to be that role model.
