News - United Caring Services

TABI has had a long standing relationship with United Caring Services in downtown Evansville. We have prepared and served meals as well as collected dozens of bags for donation during our High Holiday food drive.

During this time, the homeless who rely on United Caring Services are especially vulnerable and in need of our help. According to Jason Emmerson, UCS DIrector, this is how we can have the most impact:

"UCS is still open and serving more people as other places are not. And we are doing so minus 95% of our volunteers. Since volunteers served our meals each day -- of which we are proud and thankful -- this has been a HUGE disruption. We are surviving.

Financial gifts are always welcome via check (Mailed to: PO Box 1071, Evansville, IN 47706) or online via Network for Good or Paypal Giving Fund. Links here:

We had to cancel our Jazz Cruise & Blues fundraising event so we are still seeking to sell 100 @ $50 tickets. We would have sold 100 tickets, so this donation would help cover without any food/event expenses associated. Link here:

Items on our website front page are welcomed - that urgent needs list is updated monthly/as needed with top needs.

Our Amazon wishlist is updated some as well, but usually not as much since those are recurring needs - these items are delivered to UCS. Some items are simply not in stock given shortages. Items can be shipped to UCS. Put them to Bob Shaner's attention, not mine, 324 NW Sixth Street, Evansville, IN 47708.

At this time, we are not taking general clothing or other random item drop-offs -- ONLY items urgent needs list and/or specifically requested."
